When the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire swept through Los Angeles in early 2025, I watched thousands of families lose everything — and then face a second crisis: a broken rebuild system. But these tragedies are not just a California story. We have seen the same devastation in Hurricane Ian across Florida, tornadoes tearing through Tennessee and Oklahoma, floods destroying communities in the Carolinas, and wildfires burning from Colorado to Oregon. The disasters are different. The system's failure is the same.
